Current deforestation facts

Today (LeJog Day#14) is a rest day to let my body recover of all these miles I covered for the past two weeks. I wanted to share a short video that I believe is well made to explain the current trend of deforestation, its effects but also the fact that there is still hope and we can all do something about it.

Did you know that the current deforestation rate was equivalent to 36 football fields per minute? That the current deforestation rate alone was responsible of 13% of dioxide gaz emission worldwide? And that 85% of the deforestation was due to agriculture needs (mainly Cattle, Palm Oil, Soy Bean) used in industrial food products or to feed animals we eat?

If you learned just one thing from all those fact, watch this short (< 3min) video made by One Tree Planted.

If you feel concerned and want to help, you’re more than welcome to contribute to the fundraising what ever the amount, every penny counts or also simply spread the word by sharing the URL of my blog https://ride4theplanet.org
